At Haat India, we cherish the unique, handcrafted nature of our products and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase that connects you to India’s rich artisan traditions. If for any reason you are not, or if an issue arises, we are here to help with a clear and fair policy.
Cancellation Policy
Eligibility for Cancellation:
You may request to cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it OR before it has been shipped, whichever occurs first.
How to Request a Cancellation:
- To cancel your order, please log in to your account on our website www.haatindia.in and navigate to your order history to find the cancellation option.
- Alternatively, you can email us promptly at customer.service@haatindia.in with your order number and “Order Cancellation Request – [Your Order Number]” in the subject line.
Refund for Cancellation:
If your cancellation request is received within the stipulated timeframe and approved, you will receive a full refund to your original method of payment. Please allow approximately 7-10 working days for the refund to reflect in your account, as processing times can vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Return Policy
Our Commitment to Satisfaction:
Haat India accepts returns for eligible products if you have received a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, or if you are not entirely satisfied with your product, provided it meets all the conditions outlined below.
Return Window:
You have 7 (seven) days from the date of delivery to initiate a return for an eligible item.
Conditions for Eligible Return:
- The item must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and in its original pristine condition.
- The item must be returned in its original packaging, with all original tags, labels, and any accompanying documentation or accessories intact and undamaged.
- The product must be in a saleable condition.
Non-Returnable Items:
The following items are generally not eligible for return or exchange, unless found to be defective, damaged upon arrival, or incorrectly supplied:
- Custom-made, personalized, or made-to-order items.
- Items marked as “Sale,” “Final Sale,” “Clearance,” or “Non-Returnable” on the product page at the time of purchase.
- Bundle Products: If you purchased products as part of a promotional bundle, the entire bundle must be returned. Partial returns of items from a bundle will not be accepted.
Return Shipping Costs:
For eligible returns that are initiated and processed according to our approved procedure (e.g., for damaged, defective, or incorrect items, or for general returns meeting all conditions), Haat India will cover the cost of return shipping. We will provide you with instructions (and a pre-paid shipping label where applicable) on how to return the item once your return request is approved.
How to Initiate a Return:
- Log in to your account on our website www.haatindia.in and navigate to your order history to submit a return request.
- Alternatively, email us at customer.service@haatindia.in within 7 days of receiving your order. Please include:
- Your Order Number.
- A clear reason for the return (e.g., damaged, defective, incorrect item, not satisfied, size issue, etc.).
- Clear photographs or a short, clear unboxing video of the item if it is damaged, defective, or incorrect.
An unboxing video (from the moment the outer package is opened) is mandatory as proof for claims of damage during transit or receipt of incorrect/defective items.
This helps us resolve your issue quickly.
- Our customer service team will review your request (usually within 1-2 business days).
If your return is approved, we will provide you with detailed return shipping instructions.
Please do not ship items back before receiving these instructions.
Exchange Process:
If you wish to exchange an item for a different size, color, or product, we recommend initiating a return for the original item as per the policy outlined above. Once the return is processed and you receive your refund or store credit, you can then place a new order for the desired item. New orders are subject to product availability at the time of purchase.
Refund Policy
Eligibility for Refund:
Refunds will be processed for:
- Successfully cancelled orders (as per Section 1).
- Approved returns (as per Section 2) that meet all specified conditions upon inspection of the returned item.
- Shipments that are confirmed by the shipping carrier as lost in transit and undelivered (“missing shipment”).
- Orders that Haat India has to cancel because a product becomes out of stock or is discontinued after your order was placed.
Form of Refund:
- Refunds will typically be issued to your original method of payment used during the purchase.
- In certain situations, or if preferred by you and agreed upon by us, a store credit (valid for future purchases on our Site) may be offered as an alternative.
Refund Processing Time:
- Once your returned item is received and inspected by our team to ensure it meets the return conditions, we will send you an email to notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- If your refund is approved, it will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment or issued as store credit, within approximately 7-10 working days from the date of approval. Please note that the time taken for the refund to reflect in your account can vary depending on your bank or card issuer.
Partial or No Refunds:
Haat India reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to grant only a partial refund or no refund if:
- The returned item is found to be used, washed, damaged by the customer, altered, or not in its original resalable condition (including missing original packaging, tags, or accessories).
- The returned product has been tampered with, or a different item is returned in place of the original product shipped.
- The item is returned outside the 7-day return window without prior written agreement from Haat India.
- The return does not follow the approved return process, or items are returned without prior authorization.
- For non-returnable items, unless an exception is explicitly made by us for defect/damage. We will communicate with you transparently if there is an issue with your returned item that might affect your refund amount.
